I'm taking a shot at it right now, with serious intend of finishing it.
But boy is this sucker hard to figure out. Also this game is sporting probably the worst hint system ever.
I'm not sure if they intentionally made the hints cryptic or was the meaning just lost in translation.

I've gotten quite far, but I doubt I'll be able to figure everything in order to finish it.

Anyone know of any walkthrough out there?

Hi there girls and guys. It's been years since I know and use your lovely site. I have to state that I use hints and solutions only when I'm stuck for long time. English is not my native language, so I do find it acceptable to check for hints when I can't handle the parser, not the puzzle itself. Otherwise my friend Oggy would kill me and I wouldn't have the proper feeling of joy for completing the game

So, if my friend and Oggy and me get like really really stuck in some textual adventure, one of us would check for hints and if it was just a parser handling, we would go on. If it is a puzzle unsolved, then the other one would have to solve it before proceeding but at least we know it is not our English that is the problem.

I played Runaway on my C64 many many years ago. And two days ago, I gave it another try with Oggy (we are studying our exam again, only this time it is our last ). Tonight, we finally managed to solve the game without using solution (I have to praise him, because we were suck at one point, and he was the one to discover that taps in kitchen should be examined, since I completely overlooked that). He only feels sorry because he typed HELP in kitchen to discover the small hint for that, but still he is happy that we finished this game. I am very happy, since this was a more than 15 years of a unrest - how do I get out from that house....????

Anyway, after we finished the game, we immediately wanted to check your solution. We noticed that you had 98% and we also had 98%, but from your solution we realized that English got in our way again. We never examined bin, we tried everything (trash, garbage, bucket, basket, can, trash can, tray...) and eventually we gave up. We figured out the last digit because we thought that magazine is the key. When examining magazine, it says it is "colorful Zzap 64" so I thought that is the color that is missing, and last digit on briefcase is either 6 or 4, and we got it open. Although it was not much of problem to find one last digit, we tried 6 and 4 only to succeed. Just our luck, I guess

After learning to "x bin" from your solution, we got 100%.

The only thing that is missing from your solution, is "READ MAGAZINE" when you find it, and "READ BOOKS" in study room. That should give you two additional percentages that are missing from your solution.

No need to thank us much, just pass the info and your contribution for survival of these old beautiful games.
In the adventre game Eureka by Domark Limited on the C64, if you completed all 5 adventures you could decipher a hidden code and a telephone number.

After all these years, I still dont know how they got to work out the telephone number.

Does anyone know? Or share my interest in finding this last great puzzle from the C64 era ???
